So what's the word on Goldenback Triggers? Anyone have or had one? What are they like? They look beautiful but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone have one? Are they super agressive?

Think of them as Crosshatches on steroids...
The first main problem was price. These guys were routinely over $1000. The second problem was size. They were never available smaller then at least a foot. So they require massive tanks. My 240gal would be tight...
They are a deeper water fish, so also if you can't keep your tank on the south side of 77°F or so, I wouldn't get one. The prices of these guys have really dropped lately. That particular one at NYA is nuts. I think its only $499?

Yeah, I don't have the tank for them either. I'm just surprised NYA has had 2 for over a month at that low price and nobody's bought them yet.

I think they suffer from a bit of Bandit Angel syndrome. They just aren't particularly flattering in pictures, so with the high price, people spend their money on something else. Personally, there's no way I'd buy a Goldenback over a Blueline Angel. But to appreciate the fish, you must see it in person, just like a Bandit. Goldenback are very stunning, the blues are vibrant and a shade or two lighter then normal blue highlights on most marine fish, which is quite unusual.

I have seen one in person and they are still not that stunning.i would still choose a crosshatch over a goldenback any day.

I don't know, I think they look very unique. If I had the right size tank and the right tank mates, I would get one for sure. NYA has a video clip of one.

They've been around long enough, that the prices have naturally come down.
There are a few people, over on --, that keep them in large reef tanks and they do quite well.
