Goniopora?

have placed a rock goniopora in my tank.
have placed it around a bit to see which spot it would like the most as they say it doesnt like to much current and or light?
Now my goniopora's polyps seem to come out in every spot but they seem to not extend out but tend to turn back to their skeleton to be pressed tight to it? Just 2 or 3 polyps actualy doextend out and wave around a bit.
I have placed it in the least current area of my tank now and does exactly the same?
Is this a sign of still too much flow or what is going on?

sorry to burst your bubble but the Goniopora have low life term. i think i read somewere that the most longest kept in an aquarium was 6 months. they are difficult to care for, i think thats why.
place it on the sand and it should open up. just dont touch it alot.
