Gonna get a RO/DI unit...but have some questions

my tank is starting to tick me off cause algae is not going away no matter what...so i am gonna see if my tap is the problem and get an RO/DI unit. Walmart scares me cause i read that their RO water varies depending on if they are lenient about replacing the filter, etc.
so i've been looking around for a small RO/DI unit (cause i dont need that much water produced for a 36 gallon tank) and i found several made by this one company that can also be found on their *big auction site* store. the brand is purewaterclub and they have a portable RO/DI unit that hooks up to the faucet and produces 50GPD. its only like $70 and i've heard mixed reviews on them.
also, no matter what brand i get i have some questions about them in general:
-they need a certain PSI to work (i can buy a $10 meter at Home Depot to measure this?)
-how do they shut off? i guess this isnt a problem as long as i watch the bucket i will use for it to fill up.
thanks for any help

Most household water pressures should be fine for a unit to function properly. You can get a gauge to test it, but most people don't and it's fine. About 60psi is optimal, but they'll work down to about 45 or so.
Usually a float valve is used to cut off the feedwater to the unit. Usually you can get kits that include the float valve, the ASO valve that ties everything together, the unit, a sink adapter, etc etc.

the portable one thats RO/DI
since i could hook it up to the bathroom sink across from my room so it will be easier to deal with since my parents wont let me put an RO/DI unit under that sink or leave it anywhere besides my room.

Did you look up any reviews on it? Like I said I never heard of them
Are you buying it from their direct site???

that big auction site seems safer to buy it from and i've heard mixed reviews on it. some say its an ok unit that is kinda basic...but for the price and as long as it gives me 0ppm water i think i will go for it.
so how do you hook one of these things up if i dont get the faucet one?
