i know lots of you will say that its the picture taker that decides how good the picture is but camera's have limitations so.....what would be a good camera that has a nice big zoom and has good macro modes.also something that i can use for taking pictures out side of the tank.
right now i have a fujifilm finepix 2600z with 3x optical zoom
thanks

What exactly is slr? I have been looking around at cameras too, and see that mentions.
NM, I am looking at the G6 which is pretty much like the G5. Are you really satisfied or there areas that you would like to have but can't get with this camera?

In all honesty I think the camera is fine....but I need to improve my photography skills....there is an adapter available that allows for different lenses and I plan to explore that possibility...especially for macro photography. But for a basic digital camera the Canon G5-G6 is a great choice.

Hi Beth,
SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. It's the standard for the 35 millimeter film cameras that we all have tucked away on the shelf.
The new Digital SLR's allow you to swap lenses like the old film cameras. As mentioned, very expensive! (of course, that's what my wife wants next)
Hey, new Digital SLR for her, New 300 gallon tank for me!!
