First, I have a 28 JBJ nano and having some issues with a moderate flow on the bottom for my xenia frag. Its about 1.5 in. I was told a while back (by LFS, very reputable) that you should make sure that both eductors from the pumps trickle across the water heavily to the front of glass. I didn't follow up that question with another as the guy seemed to be pretty busy. Although this is my girlfriends frag and I hate seeing it look like its blasting off into outer space instead of opening and closing on its own like it was supposed to.
Recently I added another pump in back on side (425gph) to add more flow and so old food/crap doesn't build up. Today I did a 5 gal water change and when putting the eductors back on i realized, if i didn't put the left pump diectly off the glass and pushed it down a little more the xenia looked awesome, plus everything else had great flow as well! OK, so my question is, do I seriously need both those stock pumps trying to create as much wave as possible to the front glass??? Sorry this question took so long
