What is a good light, that is still reasonably prieced. I am thinking about buying the 250$ light at my LFS, but im seeming to find lights cheaper but the same. What is a good brand of lighting? Im looking to get a good enough light that will let me get mostly all types of corals. The lady at the store said weaker lights limit your options of coral. Any suggestions would help, thanks.

If you plan on keeping all types of corals then metal halide lights are the way to go. They are costly though. If you wanna keep some soft corals like zoos, etc. then a decent pc light will do. Something like a dual satellite with 10,000k and actinic bulbs.

If its going to an LPS or soft coral tank PC lights will work you can find them running in the $100 range. if you plan on clams or SPS corals then MH is it and only it. I pers run 4x65 Odyssea light and I love it.
