Good Or Bad Idea

I have been battling blue/green algae for some time so I decided to get turbo snails to help. I dropped them in and then in the middle of the night I remembered that I made the mistake of treating with copper about 8 mo. ago. I started to smell something bad under the tank at the filter. It turns out that about 4 of the snails died. I got the rest out and was thinking I would just keep them in the QT. I do have a new wolf eel in the QT a this time. Any suggestions?

treating the main tank with any meds is rarely a good idea.
Do a large water change and run carbon
