Good place for a Lettuce Nudibranch?

I recently purchased a Aquafuge HOB refugium. It's set up with some LR rubble, MiracleMud, and chaeto. I was also thinking about adding to my somewhat sparse CUC and noticed some options that come with a Lettuce Nudibranch. Reading the board indicates that these things often commit suicide by walking into powerheads.
Would putting it into the refugium be a bad idea? I figure it's a relatively safe place with no powerheads, adequate lighting, and over time as the algae builds up it should have plenty to eat (if it doesn't eat some of the chaeto). And, given that is a HOB model, I could still observe him in action.
I guess it's still possible he could jump over the waterfall and get sucked out the water outlet.
I've got a bunch of powerheads and possibly filter tubes in the DT, so I'm very hesitant to put him there.
Looking for opinions on the matter before I make a purchase.

I've got the medium-sized Aquafuge with the 36W light. No skimmer. It's the newer model with the black backing. The lights look a different than the ones in the pic.

Is there a way to fabricate a screen where the water flows from the fuge into the return pump chamber so the critter can't get through there?

That's not a bad idea. If it can be porous enough to allow the pods to get through but not the nudibranch, that would probably work. I'll see what I can find around the house. If I can't get this done, I'll take post some pics with results.

I have the Aquafuge2 PS, just like yours except with the skimmer integrated. You might want to do spanko's screen mod anyway, even without the nudi issue.
Broken bits of chaeto are going to find their way into the DT and into your powerhead grills unless you don't.
I haven't done this yet, but I plan to.

I left my magfloat on the glass up against the return. 3 astrea snails found their way from the magfloat onto the return and into the fuge.
One is still in the overflow section, one is somewhere in the main chamber, one is in the skimmer chamber...
