I have to memorize a poem for 9th grade Honors English. I have a few in mind, but I want to know if there are any poems that you guys like. Basically the main requirements are that it has to be 120 words. It doesn't have to rhyme, but it has to be a poem. Do you have anything good?
Thanks

A Cat's Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep...
I sleep right in the center groove
My human can hardly move!
I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"
I sneak up slowly to begin
My nibbles on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly, I have sharp teeth -
And my claws I will unsheath
For the morning's here and it's time to play
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs me and holds me tight
And sacrifices her bed at night.

Sorry Meowzer I can't use that poem because...uh...um...
There's no author! Yeah, that's why I can't use it.

Because of this thread,
You lost your mancard.
Daisies are yellow and so is the sun.
You can take away my card, cept I don't have one.
I'm 15, but nice try

Hey You, Hey You, no need to pay rent,
If things get tough, you could live in a home for the convalescent
Be careful though, cause old people-driving leaves many a dent
The elderly can't make it to the can, whoops, already went.
Thank God for depends - super absorbent.

I scored big for reciting the greatest nonsense poem in 8th grade.
Lewis Carroll's Jaabberwocky from from the first chapter of Through the Looking Glass
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought
And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
