Good temperature controller?

What is a good temperature controller that is reasonably priced?
I am looking to get something in the $80 range. Something that I can plug my heaters into that will maintain a constant temperature.
Thanks in advance.

How does the Ranco temp controller work? Do you have to just plug the heaters into it or do you have to do wiring?

Just plug and play. Just make sure you buy a prewired controller. Some of them are unwired for a few bucks cheaper.

I don't have any first-hand experience, but I read some reviews that all had a common complaint about the AquaMedic controllers "resetting" themselves and overheating the tank. On the other hand, I have heard nothing but good things about the Ranco's reliability, and I plan to use a Ranco when I get my 65 going. Thanks, Viper, for the explanation on the difference between the two models!

I have had a Ranco on my tank for the last couple of years and it has worked flawlessly and is simple to setup just plug it into the wall, then plug your heater into the controller, and set the temp. Done, haven't touched it since.
