my supplier emailed me this morning and said a 6 inch golden puffer is coming in today so i jumped on it.
he is aclimating right now.
what an awesome color cant wait to see him under the mh lights.
i will put him in my reef tank.
i have no shrimp and only a few snails and crabs so we will see how he does after the qt.
i amalmost positive they dont bother corals right?

just got home from dinner and when i left he was hidding in the rock and now he is out .
i need to get some shrimp from the oriental supermarket tomarrow to feed him.
his sides are a little sunk in but probably stressed.when i put him in the qt he puffed up for only a couple seconds the blew the air out.
i will get a couple pics up tomarrow evening when i turn the lights back on.
the qt is 90 gallons he is in there with my goldflake angel and fowleri tang.they have been in there since last tuesday i will leave them for a few more weeks and move them to the 225.
what an awesome color he is cant wait to see him under the mh.i have 2 175 mh on the qt.
i will let you guys know how he does.

sorry i went to take a pic and the camera's battery was dead.
i bought some whole frozed shrimp yesterday about 2 inch size.
he took a few nibbles at it so i figure tomarrow he will eat.
his sides are sunk in a little still today but nowhere near as bad as yesterday.
i figure by tomarrow he will look better.
he is in with the tang and angle they all get along great.
i have a long day at work tomarrow so pics by saturday i promise.

the puffer is still only nipping at food but still a good sign he will chow down soon.
yea i have been spending alot of cash on the tank lately.
need to slow down before the wife starts to ask what they cost.

sorry to say i woke up this morning and the puffer was dead.
the water and two other fish are perfect.
i havnt lost a fish in 8 or 9 years,he didnt look too great when i got him his sides were sunk in but i figured it would be alright.
really sucks to look at a dead fish i cant help but feel guilty for his death.
i certainly dont take it lightly.
i need to email my supplier and chew his ass out for a sick fish.
i just need to give the other two a couple more weeks in the qt then just enjoy the fish i have.
thanks for everyones interest .

sorry about your loss.I always study the fish at the lfs and when I make up my mind to purchase I ask them to hold onto the fish for me for a week.-just to weed out any strong sickness.

i get my fish from someone with connections in hawaii.
i pick them up at the airport.
i have bought 5 fish all rare or expert level and have had no problems untill now.
also buy corals from him and they are all nice and big.
funny how the fragile fish are all ok and a hardy puffer dies.
i have sent him an email and am waiting for one back.
so far he has been fair to me.
seems this fish didnt look too good from day one.
i will see if he does anything to help me with him.
he was a bit pricey ,and if he dont i just wont do business with him anymore .
we will see.

i am not sure where the corals are coming from i will ask him.
i just got a nice 5 inch flowerpot,8 head hammer, toadstool, torch and i already forgot what the other one was.
the corals are doing great.
he text me yesterday and said he will email me about the puffer,so i dont know if he is trying to find another puffer or what at this point.
best to let him think i am not happy.i know the golden isnt that easy to come across.he emailed yesterday that he has 2 chevron tangs coming and they are even harder to find .
they are only 2.5 inches so i dont know if i want to take a chance with him in the tank with my other tangs but he is a different genie than the ones i have now.
would love to have a chevron.
