can you keep a small shark with them? i'm going to have to say no. The shark will eat the poor little creatures...the problem with keeping other fish/creatures with seahorses is the the horses will not fight for food and often starve to death...they are not aggessive.
seahorse.org has lots of info. they say keeping them in smaller tanks is better...seahorse only tank, need lots of care.
if it were me i'd keep the tang in the 400gl and buy a smaller tank for the seahorse, or maybe divide the tank?

That large of aquarium will not be a good choice for sea horses unless you plan on having many many sea horses. A seahorse doesnt have a stomach and needs to pretty much eat continously. If they have to swim aroung a 400 gal tank to search for fun, they will starve will exert all there energy finding food..therefore slowly starving themselves. I agree with the previous poster, buy a smaller tank if you want to keep seahorses.
