Got eggs again....

My clown has laid eggs 3 times since 10/1/05... How often will she lay eggs?? I feel sorry for Mr. Clown. He is the one who gets stuck staying with and defending the eggs.. There was only a few days since the last batch hatched. She laid eggs again tonight...

About every 10-14 days. And you thought your job was tough. ***)<--hmm fish eggs.
The eggs typically hatch in 8 days, then she starts all over again with more soon after.

Oh man... Poor Mr. Clown.... I guess this cycle will continue until one of them passes on??? Maybe I will become a rearer of clown fishes... I don't think so, from what I have read that takes alot of dedication!! Thanks Thomas!!

Yeah, mine do the same thing over and over. I have another 55 gallon doing nothing, but I really don't want to set it up and a rotifer culture station as well, + bandaids and emergancy room visits from when the clowns bit my fingers off trying to get the eggs out of THEIR tank.

About 4 years now, not really sure how long they've been at it, I simply don't remember.

Do you just leave them be and let the babies get eaten up or what? I imagine soon I will have the same problem.....

We think of it as kind of sad, but this is the same cycle that the fish have in the wild; it is perfectly natural and just right to them. Remember, they don't raise their 'hatchlings'--just protect their eggs.
