Got My PAR38 Bulb....pics!

Well, got my LED bulb for my 10 gallon tank, at first I wanted to do a DIY fixture for this tank, but I thought this was the cheaper, easier route. Now, I think I'm going to have to buy another bulb, it doesn't quite cover the whole tank......The bulb seems nice though, came with a remote so you can turn the blue and white up and down...not bad for $60....

Looks nice. What manufacture is that from? I see 12 bulbs how many LED's per bulb and what is the watt per LED?

Thanks, it's from led wholesalers, but I got it off the bay..... There are 12, 1 Watt LEDS, the specs are:

Ah, that is really a close up, I thought those where bulbs, they are really the LED's themselves. If you point a power head up at the the surface you will get the shimmer effect.

Do you think I should add another bulb? Think I should attempt SPS? Haven't had luck with them in my 40 gal, uner T5's....

No SPS, you would need 3 watt LED's for them. You can have softies and some LPS, I have hammers; poly's; Xina and plate coral under 1 watt LED's. I'm using the marenland reef LED it has (23) 1 watt. You would only need another fixture if you want corals on the edges, it looks like most of your light is more in center.

I'm wondering too if the 30 degrees really cuts down the spread of the light...
that one i was looking at all the LEDs have 60 degree optics..so.. hhrrmm
Im thinking about just getting one in white and getting separate moonlights

Ive never used the marineland but i hear its not "reef capable", like its advertised.
My par38s are 6" apart with 40deg optics.... one has 80deg optics but im thinking about getting another with 60deg optics....
That would be 4 par38s on a 20L!
They have great color and shimmer! I love my par38s!
IMO u would need another of those for ur cube tank!

Looks like a nice fixture.....Curious why you don't raise the fixture to get a little more coverage, but there was a question asked my Smallreef and yes the 30 degree optics narrow the beam where an 80 degree optic would be a wider spread......

idk... im at work and dont have intrenet at my new house yet...if u look at the end of my album its more recent pics!
It used to be a 10gal with one par38 on it that was like 24" off it!
Now its a sumped 20L with 3.

The bulb Im looking at measures par at 12" above the waterline.. it really depends on the brand...
