here is my set up eshopps 800 overflow box, with mag 12 return. i have my heaters and turf scrubber set up in sump as well. my skimmer is hob so not in sump. my intake line is a hard line (pvc) and my return is flex hose. i made a diy gurgle buster i found online and it did wonders.

with my hob skimmer i am going to try and put it in the sump as well just without the overflow box. my pump for the skimmer would hang down enough to pump the water to skim. does anyone think this would reduce the performance of the skimmer? because i would really like to just have one big ugly overflow box in my dt!!!

Can you explain what is going on in the second pic?
my intake is hard line plumbed (pvc) my return is flex hose. and the other thing is my turf scrubber, i have a 1200 gph maxi jet pumping water through the 3/4'' pvc with a slot cut in the pvc, and a plastic mesh screen cut to fit in the slot. the water runs down the screen, and i have 2-26 watt cfl bulb's (1 on each side ) that grows macro algae on the screen

What kind of skimmer is it?
it's a remora skimmer i'm pretty sure it's good for 75-100 gal tank i got it used and put a new maxi jet 1200 on it. i run the scrubber on my tank also so it's just an added piece of filtration, and it pulls a half cup every 2 days
I have the same skimmer on my 28g tank lol. The darn thing is about 10 years old now.
