I have had my tanks set up for 2 months. I don't clean my live sand...should I use a gravel vaccum? I just had 1 clownfish die So I am thinking that might be the cause for my high nitrates and nitrites. Please let me know.
Two Things:
1. You shouldn't have a fish with any nitrites in your tank. This means you never fully cycled the tank. Unless you tried to cycle with a Clown...which is just bad.
2. Don't touch the live sand...it needs to settle itself (mature).
Basically, make sure you are through cycling...then leave the sand alone.
