Gravel vaccuming

I have had my tanks set up for 2 months. I don't clean my live sand...should I use a gravel vaccum? I just had 1 clownfish die So I am thinking that might be the cause for my high nitrates and nitrites. Please let me know.

Two Things:
1. You shouldn't have a fish with any nitrites in your tank. This means you never fully cycled the tank. Unless you tried to cycle with a Clown...which is just bad.
2. Don't touch the live sand...it needs to settle itself (mature).
Basically, make sure you are through cycling...then leave the sand alone.

Well, my ammonia, nitrate and nitrite all went to 0 about a month ago. just recently things began to rise. Thanks for the info on the live sand.

Have you added anything new, LR maybe? A mini cycle? I would quarentine the other fish until your nitrites are 0. Water changes!!!
