green algae on sand how do i remove?

do i get phosphate remover like i believe i heard on this thread? And Are there are snails or something that will "clean up my sand"

when my tank went through it's cycling I had alot of algae and within one week the "cleaner crew" that I bought from this site had it picked clean and continue to maintain it.
