My fowlr has only been running for about 4 months. But i have green algae all over. I have to clean the glass every other day and it's making the water cloudy. I have about a dozen turbo snails in there but i think they are still to young. My question is....should i let the algae continue to get thicker? And how do i get the water clear and keep the algae if it is benefitial? I tried to post pics but i guess they are to big. I will try to get some smaller ones. I am preatty sure it is green algae though. It's green and slimmy. There are no threads or anything comming off it just green slime.

everyone has to scrap off algae off the glass of the tank, even if one has a good cleanup crew. if it is too much to deal with, try having the light off often. another method would be get one of those algae removing chemical (personally dont like it), since it's a fowlr.

I don't mind the scraping of the glass as much as the colored water. The water has a green tint to it. I dont like the chemical solution either, I agree with you. I will try the less light idea. Hopefully it will at least clear the water clarity.
