The spot in the middle of the body, on top, thats usually darker green is now a light brown color
whats up with that and how do I fix it?
ammo = 0
trIte = 0
trAte = 10
Sg = .024
Temp = 79
had the star a little over a year now, feed him sinking shrimp pellets, and sinking marine pellets w/ garlic, also spot feed with scallops
the spot is maybe 3/8" in diameter star is about 10" tip to tip, it lost half a leg about 4 months ago (rearranging tank and tried to move him
) which is almost completly grown back

all seems to be well still but the spot is still there
I did see him and my SLF (problem - another thread in newbie forum) fighting over food the other day, the star had the food and the SLF tried to take it
but the brittle knocked him upside the head with an arm and prevailed

take that sally!!!

This one on webshots has it too. Don't know if you need to worry if it is still eating and moving around.

I kinda figured as much but wanted to check and make sure it wasn't a precursor to a bigger problem

he he now I can see it,
That isn't what mine has, this is a really light spot, like maybe a brown paper bag color, kinda the one in the pic looks like mine the way it was before

Mine has that light brown on it, too. Just noticed it a few days ago. He seems healthy. I think it's age. Mine is almost 20 inches across. I wouldn't worry. Anybody want mine? He's TOO big!

Don't want Sally! LOL it's a 65. You can have him. I've had him for over 2 years. It was one of my first and favorites! He keeps knocking over my corals and is out growing this tank. I've never seen him be aggressive and really would like to find him a new home.

So long as it is behaving fine, I would not be particularly worried. THough I would not let your specific gravity get lower.

I like to keep mine around 1.025-1.026 but to each their own. For sure, though, don't let it creep lower.
