IME, emeralds are to bubble what peppermint shrimp are to aptaisia.
They'll take care of it, but only if it's small enough for them to manage. Bear in mind as well that when the crabs go after it, they can release "spores" in the process.
I had some bubble which was really wedged into my LR, so siphoning it out wasn't working.
What I've done is to pop it while I'm doing water changes. Hold the siphon hose right over it and burst the bubble, so that all the spores get sucked out of the tank. It'll take a few tries to eliminate it, but it works.
Meantime keep an eye out for new growth. The crabs may or may not get it depending on where it's located. I've found new bubbles on my macro algae, which the crabs ignore. I just cut them off the algae and toss it at that point.
