Green Bubble

I am seeing some green and blackish bubbles on my tank glass and LR. What is this and is it bad??
Also, I am seeing green hair alge growing... is thsi bad??

hey becky,
i had these bubbles in my tank 2 for a while. one day they just dissapeared! as far as i know they didnt do anyhting. sorry i cant answer u algae question but if it grew naturally and all ur level are ok id think it would be ok!

Hey,
Those are bubble algae and can spread if you're not careful. If you pop them they'll spread little spores all over your tank and grow more. (I've seen them at a lfs bigger than golf balls!)
Anyway, the only things that I know of that eat them are emerald crabs and Red Sea Sailfin Tangs. Your tank is too small for the tang and if your get emerald crabs, get small ones!
As far as the hair algae goes, it's another pest algae. You may need a larger clean-up crew. Also, lights may be on too long.
