From what I have read they need strong lighting and feed meaty foods every other day. They also get very large. Hope you have a bigger tank. I'm finding smallest 12" and most 39"?

No, I don't believe that is enough light. You will need more like MH, or at least T5's. And it depends on the spieces of carpet you have buthere goes:
Stichodactyla gigantea-19.5 inches
Stichodactyla haddoni- 39inches
Stichodactyla mertensii- 39inches
Stichodactyla helianthus-12inches
This is there sizes listed in"MARINE INVERTEBRATES" by Ronald L. Shimek, PH.D.
I have also heard they grow fast. Just what I have read. I have only had a condy personally.

I have Stichodactyla gigantea- in my 120 its 8+ spread if it gets too big ill sell it.. or find it an atiquite home...this is a green carpet not sure the scientific name...what will happen if it has 260w of lighting it wont be able to grow through photosynthesis will it laast a few month or it will die immediately.. ? basically putting this carpet in the 260w lighting is killing it or just not recommended ?

I know it we all see what we like but not all ways what we can have.

And it is what is best for them not us.
