I just bought a small frag yesterday and put in my tank. Is it normal for it to stay closed up for a few days?

Yes. zoas might take a few days to fully open up after they have been fragged or moved.

some not all. try placing it in the bottom of the tank. were not alot of light is hitting it. and same goes for flow.

It is at the bottom of the tank. It has started to open up finally! All looks well.
