green hairy live rock and sponges

my tank has grown like green hair covering all the live rocks and the sponges have like white hair around them, what is this?

The green you are seeing is Green Hair Algae, a Lawn Mower Blenny and some hermits should take care of it, just be prepared to take the Blenny back, the starve rather quickly as soon as they run out of algae.

I have a outburst of the hairy algae all over LR. was wondering if I can take out live rock and clean them up? instead of depending on a clean up crew... I read in a book to remove live rock for annual cleaning. is this done because it has been 1 year how is that for timing.
I think the algae is from calcium additves.

I have never heard of removing your LR for annual cleaning.

Sorry it was about removing gravel, notLR and rinsing it and returning to the tank, after a year.

u dont want to remove the gravel, all your benificial bacteria live in the gravel. youll do more harm than good.
