Green hairy mushroom/ clowns

Hi all.
I bought a green hairy mushroom and I am hoping that my clowns want to host it. I know they may not take to it at all. However, how long does it usually take after you add a coral to know if they may host it? I bought it Saturday. My clowns usually stay up closer to the top of my tank and I want them to be more in the middle. So I placed the rock there.
However, the two firefish that I bought stay pretty much in the middle. Do you think they will keep the clowns from comign near the mushroom or should they be fine?

well the best chance you have is putting the the mushroom the closest you can to where they usually hang out then once they host the mushroom then slowly move the mushroom mabye an inch a day to where you want them.
the clows hosting the mushroom can take weeks, months, years or they may not even want to. its like playing the lotto. not all clowns will host corals.

Ok will do. I hope they host this. I may buy a hammer or frogspawn as well just to give them a couple of options. Which one of those is easier to care for? This hairy mushroom is my first coral.
So far so good. LOL They gave me Kent's Zooplex to feed. Is this correct?
Anyone else have suggestions about getting them to notice this thing? ***)

the zooplex will work in feeding them but i dont feed my corals anything. if you have a good enough light then they should get everything they need from the light.
i would suggest a Frogspawn because 1 IMO they are easier to care for and
2 ive seen clowns in a frogspawn and never a hammer.
GL with the new coral hope you reef thrives.

My two clowns host on 2 big green hairy mushrooms on the bottom. They spawn about every three weeks and lay their eggs on a tile two inches from the shrooms. They look like they couldn't be happier!
