green in sand?

I have got something green in my sandbed. I can see it amongst the sand in my DSB. It looks like maybe a green liquid?
Can anyone tell me what it is?

No clue buddy. I have seen it before it many tanks so hopefully it is nothing detrimental. I only replied so you would get boosted to the top. Hope someone with some expertise can help you out.

I have the same thing in my tank. My guess is that it is merely algae that is growing in the sand bed along the glass. There are no snails down there to eat it so it just grows. yet to have it cause any problems though.
I did have luck with cerith snails burrowing down and eating it.
