Hey Guys//
I'm new to the board and have a problem I'm afraid.
I have a 39gallon Eclipse 3, that I set up a while ago. We had it set up before but moved and so set it up again from scratch. I thought I had cycled it properly, but obviously not.
I was getting green/red algae all over the 15lbs of live rock I have and the glass and the bottom.
The Fish Tank store sold me some stuff to get rid of it, but now it seems suspended in the water. The water is really really nasty, no matter how many changes I do. It does get alot of sun, but I know other people whose tanks get as much sun and their water is crystal clear.
What do you think I can do. Recycling is not really an option as I have trigger fish in there.

well i think that the sun is the problem,
you can use a bag of phosphate remover to get rid of the algea it does live on it if you take the phosphates away you starve the algea it dies.put the bag of it in the water flowing in the filter, good luck and welcome to the board.

A steady supply of phospate remover is a must for a fish only tank. I keep a bag in my filter at all times. I would recommend putting a bag of phospate remover and a bag of carbon in your filter. Don't leave the the carbon in the filter longer than on e or two weeks, because it will remove some needed minerals.
