Green Montipora Cap

That one is really pretty teen. I suppose you would really need to think about placement prior to its growing, so as not to shade corals that need more lighting. I might have the right spot for one. Do you need to do anything special for the growth? Or just normal reef things?

I agree with Teen, they are some of the hardiest of the SPS types of coral, they can grow really fast, almost like Xenia of the SPS world, IMO. Here are some of my Monti's.

I would say yes, you may want to put them in the middle to lower portion of the tank, they should do fine anywhere in the tank with that lighting, IMO.

How do you attach them? do you glue them to rock or stick them in a cravace? im thinking about getting one tomorroe.

You can do either, it will grow(attach itself) to the rock, as long as nothing keeps knocking it over or something, it can take a little while for it to attach itself. Good luck, I hope you find a nice one tomorrow.

I guess I just got lucky, my green cap didn't start off with the purple rim, took about a yr to develop, it was about an inch or so when I got it 2 years ago, has been broken and fragged a couple of times. I don't have any real special hook ups, just LFS.

the one in the pic i frag a lot to keep it from growing out to far and shading other corals. i keep it a nice size, a bit larger than the pic shows.
i also have the tyree idaho grape, leng sy cap as well as the common orange cap.

That Tyree Cap is awesome, I have some different colored polyped encrusting monti's, but no Caps. The polyps on my Green really glow, but they are still green.
