Green moss on the glass?

I have been battling green moss type growth on the glass of my 1 1/2 y/o 55 gallon tank. 2" live sand in the bottom and 20# live rock. Inhabitants include a small generic damsel, a corral banded shrimp, a skunk (cleaner) shrimp, and we once had a sand sifting star - though now we only have a few tiny stars - the big one dissappeared. I have cleaned the glass with a magnet scrubber, but it leaves a light film when done and the moss grows back each time quicker! Please advise.

That is pretty much standard with an established tank. You may want to use an algae scrapper in addition to the magnet, but this is pretty much a daily maintenance thing.
