green mushroom coral

got one today - anything special i need to know about it? also exactly what type is it? LPS SPS? im new at the coral thing take it easy on me

Well, it's not a LPS (large polyp stony) or SPS (small polyp stony) but it's a "softie". Suggest medium light and low flow. They can spread pretty well given the right conditions. I have mostly LPS in my reef tank, but have a few mushrooms too-frilly green and some blue/green striped ones.

cool youre in VA too. im a few mins from Richmond... softie is all i wanted to know..... i'll probably have to shade it some, i think ive got too much light...

Actually it's not technically even a coral, but a corallimorph. For most hobbiests, though, it's considered a soft coral.

As long as theyre opening up all the way, which they look like they are, then theyre happy. Mushrooms just have weird days sometimes too, theyll look all bad and shriveled, but give em a day or a few hours and theyll be fine.
Dunno if its the camera or the bulb, but the picture is looking a bit brown. Might want to consider getting a new bulb. I recommend the Phoenix 14k

im sure the bulb needs to be replaced...
