Green Open Brain

I got a green open brain today from the LFS, and I did my weekly 10g water change for my 55g. Everything else is doing fine, but the brain it doing something weird. If has white strings come off of it. Is it dying already. Please help.

Could be it's sweeper tentacles. Feed it with the lights off.

Sounds like slime. When you changed the water, did you pour the new water back in close to the brain? Sometimes they will increase slime production if they feel uncomfortable.
I've noticed if I pour new water in too close to my brian it goes on slime over production, but it settles down after a while.

I did pour the new water too close to the brain. What is the best thing to feed it?

Feed him meaty foods. I used to feed mine frozen shrimp. But you can try spot feeding him with a turkey baster with the frozen meaty food you feed the rest of your tank. Watch for the tentacles to come out from under neath of the folds. Food will stick to those and he will pull it into his mouth.

They are sweeper fingers to catch food. It's totally normal...especially at night w/the lights off. I have three of them and they all do the same thing.
