Algae blooms can drive ya crazy, I know! Once your tank is cycled and mature, it will likely settle down and the algae issue will not be as much of an issue. it will never go away, but you will learn to manage it.
Suggest that you need a lot more LR! Also, basic algae control involves removing food sources (nitrates, phosphate), the employment of an adequate number of cleaner crew members, and the physical removal, by you, of excess amounts of algae.
In my established 55 gal tank, I still have some algae that my cleaners (snails, hermits,and a sallylightfoot crab) don't get to and when I clean the inside of the tank glass the water does get cloudy. I have a couple of canister filters that combined are rated at about 9 tank volumes per hour of turn over so any algae in the water gets sucked up and trapped in the filters in short order.
Cleaning algae w/o somehow removing it from the water can be a very effective tool for helping it to disperse and propagate!
