Mmm..it could be a whole bunch of reasons why you getting it!
1) do you test for nitrates, phosphates, alk? if so what are your parameters?
2) try shortening your light period. maybe go to 7hrs a day!
3) how often and how much do you feed your tank? over feeding can easilly cause unwanted nutrients in the tank!
4) do you run a skimmer?

I have the test strips and they are all within range..
I feed about every other day or sometimes longer..
I only put a skimmer on the front for about 3 days every few months..
I Think i found my problem though... I realized today that one of my fish was missing... I think it died in the tank and was rotting or eaten by the cleaning crew and that probably started it...
So to be sure.. I took out all the rock to find the body brushed all the rocks in seperate containers today with a toothbrush to get all the nasty algae off... never found the fish but the rocks nice color can been seen again......

a dead fish would of spiked your nitrates which could kicked up an algae bloom! have done a water change? try keep your trates, trites and phosphates at 0 or as close as possible and the algae should reside!
