Green Star Polyp Question.........

I bought a colony of green stars about a month ago and within the last couple of days I noticed that the underlying skin has a red spot about the size of a quarter on it where the remaining underlying skin is a nice healthy milk white.The polyps still come out in this area and are still green in color and they are still spreading fine.Does anybody know what this red colored skin could be.

as far as i know the color should be pink, but definitely not milky white

not sure about the red spot but as far the the white goes thats just new growth. I have several different shades of GSP and some have new growth that is kinda white in color and others are pink. But they all turn deep purple with very green polyps.

Mine is mostly red/magenta with light pink to almost white where it is spreading.
