green star polyp

I purchased a green star polyp today and I put in into my tank, but it's just purple with nothing on it. Did they give me the wrong thing? It's just hard like a rock and purple. Thanks.

Did it look any different when you bought it?
All the polyps are pulled into those purple towers you see on the rock, give it a few days and see if they come out to play.

Thanks. I seen it in the store but the guy forgot to get it when we went to pay. So he went back and got it for me and I wasn't with him. Thanks. Maybe it will come out soon! It made me nervous that he grabbed something else. This is my first time buying corals. The other corals look great so far so I'm sure it will be fine.

They tend to want to stay recessed after handling for a little while (at least mine do). They should reappear soon.

Thanks! I have them towards the top of my tank also. By what I've read maybe they should be away from the light???

i have hade the same polyop for over a year i have him placed high in the tank and he has done very well when i bought it it was about 3-4 inces and its about 8-10 inces now very cool
