green wrasse

I have a 55gal tank. I currently have a couple clowns. I was going to get a yellow and blue tang, but after reading this board there seems to be something against tangs.
1) can I put a green wrasse in a tank with a couple corals and my clowns.
2) What does everyone have against tangs?
3) Other fish suggestions.

dicemanj I think the wrasse would be fine in your tank. Some people think you shouldn't get a tang if your tank isn't 100G, and that's still small some think. Tangs need lots of room to swim and on top of that, they get very big. That's why people say no tangs in "small" tanks.

yeah, noboby has anything against tangs, it's just common for people to put them in small tanks because they're usually one of the readily available nice looking fish at local fish stores. they need a lot of room to swim, where as some fish don't need as much elbow room. your wrasse should be ok but you might wanna do some research to make sure he's reef safe, i'm not familiar with a "green wrasse".
