Grocery store clam juice

Anyone ever tried feeding this to their tanks? It's the "secret ingredient" in some seafood recipes... but has anyone ever attempted to put it in their tank? One 12 Oz. bottle is $2 roughly.
The label says "clam juice. salt, water"
Anyone ever tried feeding this to their corals?
Well, I have for the last month.
I have seen some good results. my soft corals have definitely perked up and have been expanding. My protein skimmer is actually skimming. My zoanthids are looking nice. My GSP is growing.
I have about finished the rest of the bottle because I feed a little bit of it every single night. A bottle a month for $2 compared to a 12oz bottle of zooplankton for $10-15?
Can someone see some drawbacks to this?

Sounds like you have a winner on cheap but very health coral supplement, thanks for the info. And if you do vodka dosing all you need is some tomato juice, lemon and celery salt you'll get those corals to dance,

It's hard on your water...kinda like that Micro Vert stuff, which I quit using when I was a reefer. I'd also be concerned about the salt, personally, as it's likely iodized.
I prefer to dose a quality live phyto, which feeds the zooplankton, which feeds the coral. However, if clam juice seems to work for you, that's great, altho I'll be interested in the long-term results with your water quality, altho you may be skimming most of the excess out.

Considering I have a skimmer rated for twice the volume - it's handling it really well, I think.
Phyto seems to also be the way to go as well. I just hate paying the $30 price tag for a small bottle. Don't know why it has to be so expensive.
