Growth of cabbage coral

I have a cabbage coral that has done very well. I am curious as to how fast do they usually grow? I am enclosing a pic from Sept 07 that has 7 heads, and one from Jan 08 that now has 9 heads. At this rate it will take over the spot pretty fast. Do they usually grow this fast? I did change from pc lighting to halides in the summer of 07.
How do you frag them? I don't really want to get rid of the coral, but don't really want it to overgrow the area. Any suggestions?

I take sharp barber shears and cut peices off mine...I can get about 6 or 7 nice sized ones from one cutting session, and they grow quick...
Yours look very nice BTW

very tough leathers , and fast growers. mine nearly doubled in size in a few months under t-5. i also cut massive chunks off that grew over quickly.

Anybody have a cabbage and colt in the same tank? Could the cabbage be hurting my colt coral? They're on opposite sides of my 75 gal, but my colt isn't doing well (noticed it not long after putting in the cabbage).

Thanks all for the reply's. I am interested in the fragging part. They are attached to a small rock, can I just cut them off the rock? Out of the tank of course.
I have a colt in the same tank. But, I run massive amounts of charcoal. Change the charcoal often. Any tank with leathers should be doing this, IMO.

Leathers and Carbon... Why? Leathers release that much toxin in the water. If they do they probably release a lot more after clipping huh. I don't run carbon really. I have a sick skimmer though. I'll look into running carbon more often.
