growth on tank

Okay, an extremely rookie question. I've noticed that a lot of tanks from the pics have some growth on the back walls of the tank. Is this some sort of beneficial algae and does it grow on the front wall and require constant scraping? Seems kinda strange to me that this is good for the tank.

if you are talking about the pink color it corlaine algae it a calcium based hard algae and it keeps he bad algaes from being able to take hold and its kinda pretty and bright when it covers everything.

yep, that's it. Does it grow on the glass from the LR? How can you tell the difference from beneficial and harmful algaes, just experience?

it will grow on the front wall as well, but if you magfloat your front glass every once in awhile it doesn't have enough time to grab hold to be difficult to remove.

coraline will grow on anything and everything!!
there are a number of nuisense algaes like hair algae, bubble algae, and others that the coraline will actualy grow over some of them and with others just let them not be able to grab on and get a hold in the tanks.
