I put a little Yellow Nose Signal Goby in my tank a week or so ago (similar to barbershop on SWF, but his stripes are black, not red). He found himself a nice little hole right in the front of my tank and after a couple days was out all the time.
I did a water change yesterday, and was siphoning the gravel in front of his house. I think I scared him, 'cuz now he's disappeared.
I hate that

Just hadda vent.

Seriously though. I have 4 little gobies in the tank. The biggest one is 1.25". I see him maybe once a day. The other two - meh - once every couple weeks, but they're less than an inch long combined.
I was so happy that this guy built his home out in front. Then I hadda go and screw it up...

I was like that with my serpent star. I fed it shrimp once a week just to see it. Any chance you can entice them out with something yummy?
I wouldn't worry too much, gobys find a fav spot and will keep going back no matter how much you mess with their spot.

I sawr him today. He'd retreated under the ball of chaeto that sits in the back of my tank. Hopefully he goes back to his burrow now that I'm done reconstructing...
