Well, yesterday I got a bunch of new frags, two of which were like 1" by 1" pieces of the purple mat. I put them on the rock I want them to engulf eventually. Well I put them in about 3 PM and they never opened but all the mushrooms and zoos opening up like asap. This is the morning of the 2nd day and they havent even gotten close to opening. Could they be in shock or something? Thanks

I didnt know if they were in accilmation shock or not. Let em acclimate for about 1 hr before adding them to make sure. The others might be in shock too which is what I dont understand. Ill give it a few more days I guess. Any other possibilities?

place it under bright light and good flow. gsp does take time to open up. i'd say 2-3 days on average.

yeah, it's no uncommon mine took about 4 days to open. They light high flow, mine are actually about 18" from a power head that is blowing directly on them and they're all fully extended, looks like a hay field blowing in the wind.

Yea this is day 2 and some of them opened. I now see they werent the best frags in the world. One has very tiny polyps on it and one has some full grown sized green extend-os.

Yes, give them time. Once you disturb them they do take time to open. I almost wished this frag had never opened 6 months ago

Flricordea, what the hell hahaha. Thats insane. If that happens to my tank Im going to be pissed.
Theyre slowly opening. My hermits and snails kept knocking them off the rock I have them on, so there was some area of purple mat that had no polyps there, and I put a rubberband around the rock and the area on both frags and they dont fall anymore. How long vaguely would it take for the purple mat to begin to encrust the rock?
