They can be quite aggravting at times...
Mine that was a 1x2 piece didnt open for about 3 weeks...now they stay open 24/7...that 1x2 is now about 18x18..and i have to cut it back about once a month or so..

Impossible for us to get an idea on how much flow you are giving the GSP. Do you feel as if it is extreme flow?

Well i have good flow all trough out the tank but i used my salt mixing powerhead which is a maxi-jet 400 and pointed it directly at it from about 8-10 inches away i would say maybe a little farther.... but i know its getting good flow i hope it opens soon

I know it can be frustrating. I don't want to say that you have to much or not enough flow. Best thing to do with new corals is to let them get situated. I am not patient enough for that so I would try different levels of flow. Not saying that this is the problem but it might help. You have to be the judge on how much flow is to much flow.

Just give it time...As long as it stays purple its alright, if you do decide to move it, give it a slight nudge first..If its matted down leave it alone...Will make it stay closed even longer

no its fine, gsp is kind of awkward. My gsp started off not opening and i was about to toss it. It took a month to open for me. And when it opened, it was brown! after some time, it has become beautiful green. I have just learned to wait things out, and theyll usually be okay.

i was told to take it and hold it right in front of the powerhead for a second and blow all the build up off of it. because if it has algae on it it wont open. so i blew it off real good and 3-4 days later it started to slowly open each day
