GSP Question/Problem

My LFS has a nice metallic green GSP and the guy said he'd frag a piece for me for $15. I paid and did some errands and picked them up about an hour later. He ended up giving me 2 small pieces but their mat is not completely covering the rock and has a good amount hanging over the edge. Can I still expect them to open up even though the mat is not completely on the rock? Can I use a rubber band to hold it down? Currently both frags are in my tank.

yes they will still open. instead of using a rubber band, super glue the edges down, either onto the same rock or another rock(if you set another rock next to it the super glue the matt to it you can let it grow out for a while before seperating it from the main colony).

just dont move them around untill your ready to seperate the colonies as GSP is easy to tick off.

yup. just take the whole rock out. dry it off with some paper towel and superglue the mat down with some superglue gel.
you can expect them to open even if they arent all the way down, but if there glued down, itll help them spread faster.
give them some tiem to open as well. they can go for 2 weeks without opening so dont be alarmed if they dont open up the first day or so.

10-4 thanks. I know he used superglue gel but it looks as if some got on the top, on the mat. How much of an issue is that going to be? It's not that much and I felt it. It's definitely glue.

if you cna yank it off, just yank it off. if not, just leave it. it'll either fall off, or the coral will grow right over it.
