GSP won't grow?

I've heard the stories about GSP taking off in other people's aquariums, but in mine it doesn't grow at all. I have one little patch that looks healthy, but doesn't grow. My Xenia have taken off as promised, but not my GSP. Is there something in the water that they especially like/don't like? Anything I should be adding to the water? I really don't dose with anything except the occasional Calcium. I use natural sea water.

I have had two colonys of GSP. First one didn't grow at all and finally just died. The second colony has taken off. The only thing I add to the tank is some cacium and the occasional Dr's pyhto.Their might be something in the natural sea water that the GSP don't like.
Do you run a U.V?

Forgive me, but what exactly is a UV? If your talking about lighting, I have MH. I've been at this for 2 years, and I'm still learning! I guess I'm a slow learner.

a UV is a special kind of "filter" i guess that runs your water through a tube that has a UV light in it to kill the spores of potential nuisance algae.

+1, I guess you could call it a kind of a "filter", but it just mostly water fun through a tube with a u.v light in it. I have noticed much more GSP growth sense my u.v has been off, so that is why I asked.

OK, so a UV would be bad for GSP? What about lighting? Do they prefer bright light, or medium light? Maybe I have it too high?

For me yes. I currently have them on pc's. I have seen them in all types of lighting, high-low. What kind of flow do you have on them? I do have much flow over mine.
