Cool, I'll do that. I just picked the game up yesterday. My console had been sitting in my closet till yesterday since our last move. I had almost forgot the game was out. I've been waiting for it for years. Are you using one of the racing wheels...if so which one do you like?

Xbox has forza, doesnt compare to gt5 at all. Anyone can grab a controller and pretty much play forza. People play gt5 like its just another simple racing game. The technicality and physics of gt5 is dead on with real life. I'm loving it and im glad sony didnt decide to make it easier for those who expect to play it like its need for speed

Yep it's Sony exclusive. I must say that the realistic physics of the game are phenominal. From the tracks to the scenery to the way you have to feather the throttle through turns is awesome. Totally like the real thing. I never did get a chance to play GT4...I was out of the video game scene for quite a few years. I actually bought the ps3 console specifically in anticipation of this games release and I'm not dissapointed. I like the addition of the realistic nascar races...the drafting is just like the real thing. I haven't had a chance to get to any of the rally races yet or the snow courses. I like the cart racing in the special events. Way cool!
Nike, what's the deal with the online play? If I want to race against others online I have to go into the P.S. network and and set up races that way? Can I not just go through the game like on some of my other games?

Sounds like Santa needs to bring me an extra special gift (including a driving console).

I'll have to try the NASCAR course. Maybe I can beat Jimmie Johnson, doesn't seem like anyone else can.

Do they have 'Drifters' in GT5? Always wanted to try that in real life.

i enrolled into drifting school 3 summers ago. it was a gift from my uncle as a graduation present and its really fun. i couldnt afford it to do it as a dedicated hobby though. we were on a new set of tires every day

what GT5?
Gran Turismo 5. Driving game for PS3 and XBox 350. Pretty authentic driving game. I still can't get the hang of driving with my sinking controller.

I got my first PS3 last month for netflix and other online TV, dumped Dishnet. But I easily get hooked on driving games.
I was pretty deep into Forza but it was always to easy to cheat.
Now I have to wait for Santa before I get my copy of GT5....

I'm a hand controller warrior too!

Those are pretty cool. I looked around breifly for that g27 driving wheel but didn't see it here sold in the states. I'm half tempted to build me some kind of racing seat similar to that which would be adjustable. I did pick up a new wheel yesterday and am fairly happy with it. It's the game stop wheel made for the PS3. It doesn't have the clutch but I like it alot better than my old Logitech. Right now I have a small computer desk that I pull out and set up directly infront of my large flatscreen t.v. in the living room. I built a base out of wood that holds the peddles in place...works pretty good. I think using the wheels are a little more fun than just the controlers. Pluss I have a touch of arthritis in my one hand so it hurts to hold the controler for any great length of time.
If you guys get the game then I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Unlike the earlier editions there is a little something for every type of race enthusiest in this one.

What does the GameStop wheel run for? I think I have a Logitech wheel around the house somewhere. I had the same problem where I couldn't keep the pedals from moving around on the floor. The wheel would even move around, even with the suction cups.

It ran me $79 which wasn't too bad. I think I payed more then that for my old logitech. The wood base for the peddles isn't anything spectacular, just something I threw together real quick yesterday so that I could start using it right away. I sandwiched the whole thing on both sides with 2 boards and then put 2 more blocks behind the peddles as well as raised the back of the whole thing up a bit to tilt them forward slightly. The wheel also has brackets on the bottom that support it to the table along with the suction cups. Neither one has budged an inch yet. The only thing I'm missing now is a 3D t.v. to go with it. :)
