ok guys so here is what i did. i was really 2days ago and decieded to go fishing in one of my neighbors back yard?( btw i caught a 21inch red) n e ways i had some shrimp left over that were alive and kicking literally. so i put them in my 14gallon nano cube ( i never use it i just have ls and some lr in it) just to c what they would do. My observations conclude that they sift the sand quite well. i was supprised and put one of them in my display tank. Does anyone see any problems with it? thxs

That is pretty funny. It shouldn't hurt anything as long as there is enough food for them. I have no clue what wild shrimp eat; my guess is they are detrivores and eat just about anything.

brandon, when you bring home live bait shrimp home left over from fishing. You throw them in boiling beer, then peel and eat while waiting for the Redfish to be done.

I caught several of these shrimp while getting food for my seahorse. when I put them in they were 1 inch long. they are now 3, 2.5 and 2 inches long. They don't really bother anything. I did notice that when I changed my sub strate, (I switched from a bay tank to a real sw tank) the big one ate a whole bristle worm on his own!!! They are very active and when they are not they will burry themselves in the sand compleatly!! The ones I have are very hardy, grow fairly fast, and are very active.

Well think of it this way. Do you like beer better than water? If you do, then yes. It's alot better.
