Gymnothorax polyuranodon freshwater or salt?

Gymnothorax polyuranodon or Freshwater Snowflake Eel is this a real or not can it live in fresh water or is it bs well hope you guys have a answer

It can 'live' in fresh water, but is actually a brachish species, requiring somewhere inbetween fresh and full marine conditions for best health.

wow thats awesome . Do you know what size tank they need ex... and if its expensive or where i can buy one. Sound like a cool fish
may be i will get one if i can find one

here is the info on this particular eel http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/spec...e=polyuranodon although these fish are known to be in all types of water they are mainly marine species as adults these are true eels and as such they may feed in brackish to fresh water but mainly live in full marine.IMO this eel would do best if house in full marine to thrive to fuller life expectancy they reach 80 cm.if you scroll to the bottom of the page on that link it will give you most of the info you need

i have not kept that particular species but i do keep 4 eels tess,mex dragon/jeweled. yellow barred. unknown black moray
