Ok..I am tired of searching for a place to buy a H. Magnifica. Every place that I have looked up on the internet there is a waiting list. I just want an anenome that my clowns will like. My tank is ready to receive it as my nitrates and nitrites are at zero. Anyone know of a place where i can pick one up? Thanks

There are other anemones that will host clowns. I have a sebae that hosts my female ocellaris.
BTA are known for hosting cinnamon, clarkii, tomato & maroon. My ocellaris are hosting a bubble tipped. Sebaes are known to host cinnamon, clarkii, pink skunk, orange skunk, percula and red saddleback. The LTA will commonly host many types of clowns in the aquarium setting, and are known to host clarkii, pink skunk and saddleback. I know that the malu and pink tipped Haitian will also host clowns but i am having difficulty finding which ones.

Yes I was wanting a H.Magnifica..they are beautiful. I know that there are some anenome's that you can't stick in with each other. I have learned that the hard way...chemical warfare...have you heard anything about the long tentacle anenome? Funny story..i went to the pet store that specializes in Reef tanks...i told them i was looking for a H. Manifica..they told me that the long tentacle anenome was the same thing..but when i looked up the information on the web they stated they were two different anenome's...so what is the answer..i pose this question to any of the experts on here..thanks

They are two different species.
In my experience, bubble tips are the easiest to care for, don't fight with each other as much and it's easy to get the to host clowns (any clowns).
I think one of the main reasons these guys are always out of stock is because they're misidentified constantly.

Thank you for your information. I have had bubble tips in the past and have had much success with them. We moved from AZ to IN and had to sell all of our livestock. I was thinking of starting with a different anenome. But I might as well stick with what I know works. I just wanted to expand my knowledge and learn more about anenome's. Thanks to all who have replied.
