H2O is not crystal lear

before I get too far into it. I just converted from a 54g corner w/ a canister filter and it kept the water crystal clear. I NOW have a 120g w/ a sump/fuge underneath, well, the fuge compartment is there but no algae in it yet.
Anyway, the water has "dirt" or detrious floating around in it. it never seems to settle. any ideas on what to do? thanks

Do you utilize carbon? Carbon will trap detritus mechanically and chemically.

yep, carbon does good things for smell and clarity.
