H3!! has officially frozen over at my house

Those that know me know that I am an avid Sportbike rider. I have ridden motocycle on and off for 34 years since I was kid on dirt bikes. It took me two years to get back into riding because my wife did not want me to buy another one for all the reasons you would expect. It finally came down to "If you want one just go buy it and don't tell me about it until you bring it home." So, when I did just that 3 years ago she was not happy, but tolerant. Over the past three years, it has slowly progressed as follows.
I hate those things. It will be a cold day in h3!! when you catch me on one.
They look like fun but are too dangerous.
I wish I could do that.
Can I sit on it and see how it feels? (Now this is a very aggressive riding position Honda 1000RR so it is not comfortable)
Can you take me for a short ride? (She has racked up about 300 miles as my co-pilot in the past 2 months.)
Can I take the MSF course so I can see what it is like to ride one? (Took to riding like a duck to water and scored perfect on all the skills tests)
I want my own!
So I will be picking up my wife's sportbike in the next couple of days. It came in yesterday and they are waiting for the lowering link to come in.
Looks like I will be keeping the front wheel on the ground a lot more now because I don't want to hear

What kind of bike is that 500...600?
That's cool... you are lucky... my wife has been on mine twice in like 4 years for maybe a 5 minute ride... She's starting to come around a little saying that if I buy her gear she will ride. But who knows.
I hate to say it but Bikes are "chick magnets" but I can't even get mine to really try it out.
I see its a 6... is that a new model because I know Kaw has ZX6 and ZX6R ?
Last question... why not go for an f4i since you are a honda guy?

Believe me, if mine came around, anyone can. I don't think I ever met anyone that disliked sportbikes more than wife 3 years ago. I have caught more grief over mine than you can believe. Especially when a friend of mine let slip about our 170+ MPH runs we were doing out in some farmland areas miles out of town and no traffic around.
It's a kawasaki ZZR-600. It is basically a rebranded 2002 Zx6r. Like Honda's RR series, they went way radical with the ergos in 2003 like all the manufacturers have done to compete with one another. Many people want a nice street bike and don't care about the race ready versions so Kawasaki brought back the 2002 ZX6r in 2004 and rebranded it as the ZZR. They kept the less aggressive ergos and it's still at around 100hp but very manageable just like the Honda F4i.
Honda stopped making the F4i in 2006. You can't get new ones any longer. We found a few used ones but as they retailed for $1300 over the ZZR, I can get a new ZZR for a litttle more than a used F4i. And the big reason, she likes the ZZR more. The F4i felt a little wide to her.
My wife has had all her gear for about two weeks now. MotoGp leather jacket with full armor, Power Trip Mesh jacket with full armor, Arai Corsair RX-7 Matsudo Cobra replica helmet, MotoGP leather track pants, Dragon Jeans and Setup Racing boots.

Well congrats...
I didn't know that about the new bikes... I guess thats because I haven't been in a dealership in more than a year.

Oh, I've had a suzuki. They are great bikes. When it comes down to the four Japanese bikes, it really comes down to what you like in looks and feel. They are all so close in performance it doesn't matter and it always comes down to rider.

Yes they are carburated but that is not a problem at all. Fuel injection or carburated each have their pros and cons. I believe that is why you can't buy them in California though.
Nice Daytona by the way.

thanks...that zzr is a sharp bike as is the cbr1000....fuel injection takes a little of the work out...i.e..no choking before starting your day...lol...i love the daytona cuz everything is electronic so all you have to do is turn the key let the cpu run the check and start engine varoom varoom!!!!

You should have looked at the Suzuki SV 650's More foregiving
especially for a first timer less aggressive seating and a more comfortable ride.
I currently ride a 06 SV1000s and not having to speed to use its powerband is amazing.

Just got home with it. Very nice bike and handles really well considering it was lowered two inches. No way is she letting me posts pics of her. She went with me to pick it up so she saw it when they rolled it out. She is very excited to get out and do some parking lot riding for a bit to get used to it. It won't take her long.
Pics to follow soon.
ToeKnee, we looked and she sat on every bike out there before we made our decision from 250 ninjas to a 600RR just for fun. She did try the SV650sf full fairiing and did not like the feel of it. I'm very familiar with just about any sport bike including the SV650 and the ZZR is a good beginner bike. It's not the best beginner bike, but the throttle is very controllable with the power band being in the high RPM range. The one advantage to the SV650 is it is more upright but that's not a problem.

Here's some pics after I got her home and introduced her to her garagemate. They seem to be getting along fine but I think mine was a little jealous seeing me riding another bike.

We took it to the local park and she rode it around the parking lot for about 30 minutes. She took her time and did great. She handled it easily with it lowered and the throttle was not a problem. I did some pictures with her riding it but she threatened my life if I posted them. Oh, and no pink for her. As I mentioned, she has the Matsudo Cobra helmet.
Now to get rid of that mud flap and turn signals. I think I'm going to get a couple of Zero Gravity dark smoke double bubble wind screens for them also.

And a picture of the "NON-PINK" Helmet I keep threatening to steal.
